Meet Evonne
Mother. Business Owner.
North Carolinian.
Evonne is no stranger to hard work. Raised in a family of small business owners, she learned early that perseverance, integrity, and dedication matter—and that with hard work, anything is possible.
Evonne earned her Bachelor of Arts with Honors in Philosophy from Rollins College in 1998 and her joint JD/MBA from the University of San Francisco in 2003. She is licensed to practice law in North Carolina, California, and the District of Columbia.
Today, Evonne is a Board Certified Family Law Specialist and the proud owner and operator of the Raleigh Law Center. She also volunteers with The Child’s Advocate, a project of Legal Aid of North Carolina, representing children in high-conflict custody cases. In recognition of that work, she received Legal Aid’s 2024 Pro Bono Hero Award.
Evonne and her husband, Joe, have lived in North Raleigh for more than 20 years, where they raised their two sons. She fights for children and families every day and she is ready to bring that same dedication to the North Carolina General Assembly and fight for you.
No one should have to choose between getting the care they need and paying their bills.
Evonne will fight to protect access to Medicaid, ensure quality, affordable healthcare, and work to lower the rising costs that families and small businesses face. She also believes reproductive healthcare decisions belong with patients, their families, and their doctors, not politicians in the North Carolina General Assembly.
Our children are the future, and they deserve a public education system that reflects how much we value them and that starts with respecting the teachers who show up for them every day.
North Carolina must raise teacher pay, but a paycheck alone cannot fix overcrowded classrooms, outdated materials, and a lack of basic resources. Our schools also need enough counselors, nurses, and special-education professionals to give every child the support they deserve. We know what our students and educators need. It is time for the General Assembly to stop making excuses and start investing in their success.

Growth is good, but we have to plan for it. We can't keep building homes and businesses without making sure our roads, schools, water systems, and first responders can keep up.
Evonne will work with local leaders to ensure our infrastructure keeps pace and that new growth helps pay for the resources it requires. Evonne doesn’t want to stop growth; she wants us to be smart about it.
Everyone deserves to feel safe at home, at school, and in their community. That means supporting our law enforcement and first responders, investing in mental health care, and doing more to prevent violence before it happens.
As a gun owner, Evonne respects the Second Amendment, but she also believes that gun ownership comes with responsibility. We can protect that right while keeping guns away from children and people who pose a threat.
Evonne wants North Carolina to continue growing without losing the things that make our communities such great places to live.
That means protecting clean drinking water, addressing PFAS contamination, preserving our tree canopy, and making sure development doesn't overwhelm our streams and water systems. We can welcome new homes and businesses while protecting our natural resources and quality of life. Those goals don't have to compete with each other.
